Leaders of Our Youth

My heart at this moment is full of gratitude for our youth leaders.  These men and women work so hard at guiding and shaping young minds down the road that God has in store for them.  They have an amazing opportunity to help put these children on the path to a future God has in store for them. They have such an important job in this lost world; that is to reach these kids and show them the love of Jesus.

Now a days, it seems as if most kids come from broken homes, or single parent households.  That is the norm.  My own children come from a broken home.  So I know first hand how difficult it can be.  A lot of children have been abused and feel like they have no purpose because they are living such difficult lives.  These children feel like they don't fit in at church because of their environment at home.  These children are already feeling and experiencing life-such darkness at a young age. There are kids out there that don't feel safe anywhere. Could you imagine how scared these children are?  Could you imagine not ever feeling safe?  Especially, in your own home.  There are a lot of hurting young people that need to know and feel the love of Jesus. Just a taste of His love has the power to ignite such an amazing fire inside.

My heart is overflowing with thankfulness for our youth leaders.  Not just because of the impact they have had in my boys' lives, but because of their passion and love they have for all of our children.  It can be felt, it can be seen.  These men and women are making a difference.  They are planting seeds of greatness inside of these young hearts.  They are getting them off of the streets, giving them a safe environment to be themselves, loving them and teaching them that even though they have a difficult life, it doesn't define them.  They are speaking life over these children and letting them know that they have a purpose and God has great things in store for them.  They are making an impact and changing lives.

Our youth leaders aren't there just for the kids who come from a family of believers.  They are there to reach all children.  No matter what their background, no matter where they came from, no matter their race, or religion.  And it especially doesn't matter if they come from a household with one parent, two parents or four.  Our youth leaders are there for advice, for listening, to be that Godly role model and to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  They are the light in some of these kids' dark, dark world.  These men and women are reaching the kids that need them the most.  And for that, they all have a special place in my heart.

So, to all of our youth leaders out there, I commend you, I thank you, I appreciate you and all of your hard work and dedication.
