Declare Today

I can feel that you are struggling with your thoughts today.  I know because of your past, and emotional wounds, the negative self-talk and thoughts are always present.  Because of your past, you view yourself differently than the world sees you; you view yourself differently than God sees you.  You don't always mean to think negatively about yourself, but somehow, it just happens.  I know the pain all to well of having emotional wounds.  God is still healing what's left of mine.  He can and will heal all of yours too.  It isn't an easy road to travel down; but I assure you, once some of your wounds are healed and you begin to experience the freedom that healing brings, you won't ever be the same.

Declare today, and every morning, that something great is going to happen.  Declare today, and every day, that God is working in your life.  Declare today, and every day, that you are blessed and thank Him for it all.  Declare today, and every day, that you are a child of the most high and that is something pretty special.  Declare today, and every day, that God will equip you for whatever the day may hold.   Say these things out loud.  Say them when you feel like the weight of the world is coming down on your shoulders.  Say them when you start to think negatively about yourself.  Pretty soon, these thoughts will be your default and the negative self-talk will fade away into the darkness from where it came.

You see, when your wounds are healed, it leaves behind a scar.  It could be a physical scar that you can see or a mental scar that you cannot.  Regardless of what kind of scar it is, God heals them the same.  Your scars are a beautiful reminder of what you have overcome.  They are a reminder that you have a God that loves you for you and is walking with you through it all.  They are a reminder of your strength, your perseverance and your faith.  They are a reminder that God took your ashes and made something beautiful out of them.

God, today, I lift up this person.  I pray that when feelings of inferiority, insecurity, and self-doubt creep into their heart, that you help them to see themselves the way you do.  -Amen
